Residential Project 2050 Home: Rustic Roots, Concrete Forest, Modern Soul
Project type
Residential Project
Date
Fall 2024
This home is designed for the Johnsons in the Bellevue neighborhood of Washington DC. Inspired by rustic and industrial styles, the home of the Johnsons will support their diverse lifestyle of timelessness, flexibility, and durability. The design will be modular and energy-efficient, using lightweight AI technology and a sustainable Circulatory system.
The materials and colors will derive from biophilic elements, making the space feel raw and natural. Using stone and wood materials to line the walls will give the space warmth and an earthy dynamic. The area will consist of a neutral color palette will the occasional dark teal accents. Faux leather will be integrated into the space to give comfort, without having to use non-eco-friendly materials.
Stainless steel will be used in the home for better support for the terrain and its corrosion-resistant abilities can give more power and structure. The use of natural lighting will improve energy efficiency by minimizing artificial light and excess electricity. It can help bodies produce Vitamin D, regulate circadian rhythm, and improve sleep patterns as well since health, physical, and mental well-being are a strong focus of the family. incorporating a home gym and/or meditation room will also give support to their health-oriented lifestyle.
Their kids will also have access to a learning center integrated with AI technology and robotics to improve their learning capabilities. The home will be ADA-approved as well to give their elderly parent security and solace when visiting their residence. In conclusion, the design will assimilate all parts of their dynamic, multi-faced lifestyle to provide a comfortable, safe environment to live contently.
